Every beloved festival--Our country is a country of festivals and fairs.
Dussehra is a very old and popular festival of India and it is celebrated 20 days before Diwali.
Historical Background – The festival of Dussehra is also related to Shri Ram Chandraji like Diwali.
On this day Sri Ram Chandra killed the king of Lanka Ravana and recovered his 13th daughter Sita.
This festival is celebrated with great pomp every year in memory of this day.
There are nine Naratas before Ram-Leela-Dussehra.
In these days, Ram-Leela is held everywhere in our city.
People go to see Ram-leela till midnight with great enthusiasm.
People watch with great interest the scenes of Rama-Banvas, Bharata-Milap, Sita-Haran, Hanuman's burning of people and Lachmana-Murcha.
During these days, Jhakiyas of Ram-Leela are also displayed in the bazaars during the day.
Scene of Ravana burning - On the tenth day, bamboo and paper effigies of Ravana, Meghnad and Kumbhakaran are burnt in an open place in the city.
Sweets and toy shops are decorated around.
People from near and far disperse to see the scene of Ravana's burning.
People enjoy the fireworks going on in the pandal and crackers.
The final tableau of Ram Leela is presented and Ravana is killed by the hands of Sri Ramachandra.
Now the sun is about to set. All the effigies including Ravana are set on fire.
This At times, there is chaos among the people and they start going home.
Many people also carry the half-burnt bas of Ravana's effigy with them.
Buying sweets - On the way back, people crowd around the sweet shops while passing through the markets and go home after buying various sweets. Then they eat and sleep at night.
Greatness – Thus, Dussehra is a very popular and heartwarming festival.
It expresses the respect of the Indian people towards their religious and historical heritage.
